Make garments at home

Just when you think you have purchased all of the new electronics on the market, you stumble across something new and different. Brother has been one of the leaders in printer production for years, however, the Brother GT-541 changes the game up a bit. Though it is still considered an inkjet printer, this unit is designed specifically for printing on various types, shapes and sizes of garments. It is less expensive than the average screen printing device and requires less maintenance and less knowledge.

Having a machine like this would allow users to start their own business making t-shirts or pillows or blankets, etc. The set-up and clean-up is light, which will appeal to most people. The ink used for printing is water-based, but rather than need a large dryer that is the size of a conveyor, a simple heat press can be used. Not only will this save time and money, but it takes up only a fraction of the space.

It is still a hefty machine, weighing in at about 220 pounds. It has the ability to print on both sides, which is known as duplex printing and will save time for certain projects. It is connected via USB port. So, basically, a creative mind can work on a design at their laptop until the final image has been decided upon. Using whichever fabric desired, one click of the mouse and the image is applied to the media type. Once a heat press is used, that image will be on the fabric forever.
Of course the Brother GT-541 is only worth having if garment printing is a relevant hobby or business endeavor. It is compatible with Windows operating systems, including Vista.

Replacement inkjet cartridges will be easy enough to get from Brother, though that is a side cost that could add up depending on the amount of printing that is being done.
